The West Blocton Tigers played a strong first half of football at home against cross-county rival Bibb County. The Tigers scored on their first two possessions and led the Choctaws 14-7 at the end of the first quarter. A bad snap on a punt attempt resulted in a huge loss and gave Bibb excellent field position just before halftime. Bibb Co. was able to score but missed the extra point making the score 21-20 at the half.

Bibb Co. got the ball first coming out of halftime. After a big penalty against the Tigers, the Choctaws were able to score, making the score 26-21 after a failed two-point conversion. As the Tigers were driving down the field, an interception ended the chance to tie the game. The Tigers’ next possession resulted in a turnover on downs after a failed fourth down attempt. The Tigers’ defense held Bibb Co. and gave the offense one more chance to tie the game. The Tigers last chance ended with a big sack and loss of yards on third down, forcing the Tigers to punt the ball.

Bibb Co. added a touchdown late to make the final score 33-21. The Tigers’ offense was led by running back Nate Barron with 163 yards rushing on 21 carries and three touchdowns. Quarterback Caden Fancher had a good night through the air completing 13 of 19 passes for 136 yards while also adding rushing yards of his own. The defense was led by Cooper Deerman with 10 tackles, Levi Carey with 9 tackles, and Palmer Milligan and Nick Kelly both with 6 tackles each.
