Absentee voting is a convenient option for those who cannot make it to the polls on Election Day. However, not everyone qualifies for absentee voting. To help navigate the process, here are some frequently asked questions:

Can everyone vote absentee?
No, absentee voting is only available to those who meet one of the qualified reasons, such as being out of town on Election Day, having an illness or disability, or working a shift that prevents voting.

Is it too early to send in my absentee application?
Absentee voting begins 55 days before the election, so you can submit your application once this period opens.

What if I don’t know my precinct or voting place?
It’s fine to leave that section of your absentee application blank if you’re unsure. It will not affect your application.

Do I need a witness for my absentee application?
No, you don’t need a witness unless you sign with an (X) mark.

Which election do I mark to vote for President in November?
You’ll want to mark the General Election to cast your vote for the President in November.

Do I need to send a copy of my ID with my absentee application?
Yes, unless you are exempt as a disabled voter or qualify as a military or overseas voter.

Does the copy of my ID need to be in color?
No, a black-and-white copy is acceptable.
