Tell us about you, how long you have been here and about your family.

I’ve been living in Brent all my life (43 years), my wife is from Tuscaloosa. I met my wife in 2013, got married in 2016, we have 3 kids, 2 boys and a girl aged 21,20 and 16. We attend The Israel of God located in Center Point, Alabama. We are Bible Christians; we honor the Lords’ Sabbath Day (Saturday) and we also keep the Lords’ Feast Days according to Leviticus 23.

How did you get started in barbering?

I started cutting hair at the age of 15, went to cosmetology school in 2018 for 15 months, got my licenses and the rest is history.  I was always fascinated by watching my cousin’s cut hair so that’s really how I started.

Do most people come in with a specific style in mind, or do they ask for your recommendation?

It’s a little bit of both. Sometimes I’ll get clients that will show me an unrealistic style that does fit their head/face shape. Some people I can and some people I can’t, but it actually depends on the texture of their hair.

What’s the most popular haircut you’ve been doing lately?

Temp fades and skin fades.

What’s your favorite part of being a barber?

Next to making people look good is being self-employed.

Do you have a favorite haircut or style to do?

The Burst Fade Mohawk

If you could give any historical figure a haircut, who would it be and what style would you give them?

It really doesn’t matter to me because a client is a client regardless of who it is.  As far as a certain style, I would cut whatever style they would want as long as it’s within the bounds of my ability.

What’s the wildest haircut request you’ve ever received, and did you make it happen?

I really can’t recall

If your clippers could talk, what would they say about you?

“You came to the right place cause he’s one of the best to ever do it”

What’s your go-to karaoke song while you’re cutting hair?

I don’t have a go to song because I like more than one

If you could trade places with any celebrity barber for a day, who would it be and why?

I really don’t look at celebrity barbers that way because I feel that I can cut just as good if not better.  I say that as humble as I can.

What’s the funniest or strangest thing a client has brought in to show you the hairstyle they want?

Don’t have one.
