Aloha! Cahawba Christian Academy Holds Back to School Luau for Students

By Savannah Logan

As a fun welcome back to kick off the new school year, Cahawba Christian Academy held a Back-to-School Luau event for their students and families on Friday, August 23, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

There is nothing like a humble leader – and Dr. John Russell, Principal of CCA, showed himself to be a fine example of one as he lent himself to the dunking booth, where students and faculty had a blast trying to dunk him into the water.

Students were offered snacks and drinks as well as extra turns on some games for $1. Some of the games and activities included a hula hoop party, face painting by Mimi, a bounce house, corn hole, tug of war, jump rope, limbo, and a blow-up slide. After the students ate lunch, students in 5th through 12th grade watched Soul Surfer, while those in K5 through 4th grade enjoyed Lilo & Stitch in the library.

What a fun way to celebrate and welcome in the new school year!
