Community Connect: Mandi Woodruff, Pharmacist at Cahaba Medical Care

If you’ve gotten a prescription filled at Cahaba Medical Care in Centreville recently, chances are you’ve been greeted by the friendly face of Mandi Woodruff, pharmacist and Bibb County native. Taking great joy in her work and the positive impact it has on her community, Mandi’s love for her community truly shows.  

How long have you lived in Bibb County? 

“Since I was born, took a short break living in Birmingham through college and came right back.” 

Can you tell us about your family? 

“My mom and dad are also Centreville residents, as well as my sister. I also have a brother who lives in Alabaster. We have always been very close and love to plan family dinners together.” 

Where did you go to school? 

“I went to Bibb County High School and then went through undergraduate and graduate school at Samford University – pharmacy school at the McWhorter School of Pharmacy.” 

How long have you been a pharmacist? 

“I graduated pharmacy school in 2019 and have been a pharmacist for almost 5 years now.” 

What’s your favorite thing about working with Cahaba Medical Care? 

“My favorite thing about working with Cahaba Medical Care is the impact it has on the entire community. What we do matters and it is evident every single day.” 

What is one quote or Bible verse that inspires you? 

“One Bible verse that inspires me is Romans 8:28: ‘And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.’ I think this has been true for my entire career and is ultimately shown in my ending up at Cahaba Medical Care.” 

What do you like to do in your free time? 

“In my free time, I like to practice Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at The Studio in town. It’s a great way to stay active and also let off some steam!” 

Who is your favorite musician/artist and what do you like about them? 

“My favorite artist is Lizzy McAlpine. Her music is real and honest, and her voice is absolutely beautiful.” 

Do you have any pets? 

“I have two kitties that I absolutely adore. They’ve been on me lately about getting them a puppy friend.” 

What’s your favorite way to unwind after a long week? 

“My favorite way to unwind after a long week is to stay in and watch a movie – with popcorn, of course!” 

What’s the first thing you would do if you won the lottery? 

“The first thing I would do if I won the lottery would be to pay off my student loans and become debt-free! The absolute dream.” 

What is your current obsession? 

“My current obsession is Clean Eatz Kitchen meals! Healthy, delicious meals with all clean ingredients and weight management in mind. Plus, shipping is free!” 

 

Leaving the county for a while to only come back to seek ways she can better the place where she came from, it is those like Mandi who keep Bibb County a wonderful place to live. If you see her out and about, be sure to stop and say hi!
