Woodstock Elementary School Introduces Teachers’ Lounge

Under the leadership of Principal Kristin Lightsey, Woodstock Elementary School has added a wonderful addition to their hallways.
Teachers work tirelessly towards the goal of their students’ success, spending hours upon hours in their classrooms with little to no breaks on most days. Now, at WES, they will have a space to retreat to when they need a moment to reset.
The concept of a teachers’ lounge has been well known in past decades and even in media such as television shows and movies, but few schools seem to make it a priority to provide such a space for their teachers.
Thanks to generous donations, the teachers’ lounge has been supplied with the necessary furnishings for a space where educators can take a step back and take a deep breath when needed, away from the well-known spaces of their classrooms. Whether it is to eat lunch, grab a snack, collaborate and build into the camaraderie with fellow educators, this space promises to be particularly beneficial.
Teachers deserve more recognition and appreciation than could ever be expressed, but the gesture of creating a teachers’ lounge at Woodstock Elementary School speaks volumes.
