William Bert “Bill” Fulford, Jr. 

William Bert “Bill” Fulford, Jr., a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully at home in Bay Minette, Alabama on May 15, 2024. Bill was born on September 23, 1941 in Vallejo, CA.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard and Alma Fulford and parents, William B. Fulford and Lillian D. Sewell.

Bill is survived by his wife of 62 years, Catherine Pickering Fulford; son, Dale Fulford; daughter, Mara (Robbie) Outlaw; brother, Bob Fulford and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Bill graduated from Dallas County High School in 1959. He had a 35-year career working with Alabama Power Company. Bill was always tinkering on something and could fix anything, especially cars and anything electrical or mechanical. His ability to modify his ‘55 Ford Coupe to shoot blue flames was legendary. He enjoyed the years of “working the farm” both as a young man and later in life. Bill also loved coaching his girls’ softball teams in Centreville and the girls’ basketball team at St. James School in Montgomery. His focus, patience and calm demeanor were to be admired.

Bill will be missed every day but will stay in our hearts forever.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 20, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Plantersville Christian Cemetery with Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a children’s charity of your choice.
